Using
XML4J an XML parser in Java
XML4J has
been upgraded to the Xerces-J Parser (Xerces2) and is available as a part
of the Apache's Xerces family of parsers. This Xerces-J Parser uses the
Xerces Native Interface (XNI). The details of the components and the implementation
of XNI are available in the website of apache.org.

This
interface is used for building parser components and it is very easy for
programming. This parser includes DOM level 3, complete implementation
and the XInlcude implementation recommended by the W3C. OASIS XML Catalogs
are also supported in Xerces2.
The APIs
should be used in java programming so that you need not change anything
in the code if there is any change done to the API implementation in the
future. Standards like, XML 1.0, XML 1.1, XInclude 1.0, DOM Level 3 and
2, SAX 2.0.2, JAXP 1.3, and XML Schema 1.0 are supported in Xerces2.
For further
details on the different classes, methods, and the properties and how
they are implemented using Java can be seen in the apache.org website.
